MYTHS OF THE

MISSING HALVES

Throughout our lives, we all seem to venture in different ways, going on our own journey in search of something that can make us feel more complete. This first dinner is an ode to our messy hunts of missing half.

As outdated as it sounds, the original myth of the missing half written by Plato depicts human beings on a constant hunt only for romantic and romanticized passion with someone else. Is that so true? Would this still apply today? Considering how layered and eager we are. Considering how the multiple revolutions of transportation, communication and socialization molded us — can we really talk about one single myth and one missing person? Does it have to be romantic? Does it have to be a person? Can’t that missing half also be a place, an activity, a shifting moment or a special feeling we did or did not experience yet? And why the fuck does the term “missing” sound so depressing and melancholic?

The “Myths of the Missing Halves” dinner is an absurd, creative, uplifting and empowering conversation gathering multifaceted strangers. During one evening, let’s explore and share our own understanding of it. Let’s feed our hungry minds and unhinged stomachs around a delicious banquet paired with wines and good laughs. Come and share your stories. Who’s in, lovely peeps?
